The pandemic is an unprecedented test for societies. A test for our solidarity and humanism.
EU was too late (and wrong?) in its medical reaction on the Covid-19 spread and may also be late in saving the economies from collapse.
Two elements are vital for policy crisis response: speed and scale, so now only a maximum mobilisation of funds can provide the millions of SMEs with the urgent liquidity to stay alive.
Even the strongest and most productive economies will not recover by themselves.
This late EU response will again fuel the anti-European rhetoric and may be the final blow to our ideals of mutual prosperity and solidarity that the Union is built on.
We will survive this crisis together, or we will sink one by one; it is up to EU right now!
